[What is this strangeness about. I receive it. Lately, the pairings of Missive to Ode have become more amusing to me, more transparently in dialogue. Like the Surah to the Proverbs — the texts are talking to each other. We facilitate their talking by bearing them into this world, so others can witness their conversation. “how is it / That something so simple can intrigue us to no end”? “The enchanted I in the enchantment of the eye,” “The brimstone at the rim of our atonement / Carries a new provenance, a new esteem, valued / Highly and cherished, above marble, above salt” “In the dark, damp, desiccated down under. / Where are we? Where have we been taken? / Where are you taking us, O wise one, O great guide? / We humbly kneel and bow our head to the cold / Stone floor, worn smooth by so many before us / Doing just as we now do” “I find you; I am found by you. / Return to me; I return to you. Once more, I am here / Once more you are here, with me / Once more, you are nothing to me / And the nothing is everything / And the everything is void / And the void is becoming / Becoming and becoming, we have become / And become, we have bound ourselves again / To the present, which we must in turn / Turn away from.” As the Ant turns .. and walks away — “And in the turning shall be / The finding.” ~ ] Received 8/25/2026 | 11:41-59pm

Listen to the Recitation:
PHYSIC Physis, fuses Energy generated between One object of worship and another I worship what is behind the object Following the path up over Into the smallest place, tightening Compression on all sides of me The lens between alignments Breathing life into exhortation Sun rolls in the meadow A thousand seeds blown Apart, to dust, to smithereens Decanter lever~aging Pulling water up out of the pipe Well-wishing the one I loathed The one who took everything from me I bow to and thank Another year, another onion bloom Tall green spikes with pink Pink at this time of year Seems a shame almost, and yet I grin through the grit of passage Greeting the sand before me An ant pushes a stone twice its size uphill Drops it at my foot, then turns And walks away
